FG40 Atex and IECEx certified incremental encoder
About the product
The incremental, solid shaft encoders FG 40 Ex can be used in a variety of applications to measure the speed of standard, main and secondary drives in potentially explosive atmospheres, for example in the oil and gas industry as well as in petrochemical applications. Certified according to EN 60079 (ATEX) and IEC 60079 (IECEx), the encoder is certified for applications in zones 1 and 2 (gas) as well as zones 21 and 22 (dust) and is designed to meet the degree of protection requirements IP66. Technically, they are based on the FG 40 models. The explosion-proof housings with removable terminal box covers allow the connection of the cables during installation on site. This in turn means that it is possible to use different cable lengths to connect a device of the same type.
